Featured for the first time at Milapfest’s long-running concert series, Jonathan Mayer’s versatility and distinctive approach are tribute to his education in both Indian and Western classical music, and his studies in composition with his father, the late Indo-Jazz artist John Mayer. Jonathan is a composer and performer who has appeared in concerts all over the world, and in this concert, features his improvisations and compositions on the sitar. Kousic Sen, the master-drummer from Kolkata, is an expert in accompaniment and duets in Hindustani music, and performs tabla in the duet with Mayer.
