Ustad Harjinderpal Singh presents mesmerising ragas on the santoor.
The santoor is a hundred stringed instrument from the valleys of Kashmir, this complex instrument produces a beautiful trance-like sound, which Sufi mystics use as an accompanying instrument in divine music.
A senior disciple of santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Harjinderpal learnt to play the santoor under his tutelage and has become one of its leading exponents. In this concert, Harjinderpal will perform a selection of beautiful Hindustani ragas accompanied by tabla maestro, Kousic Sen.
