The National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music returns to Indika with a new global sound.

Performing a programme of exciting classical and fusion works, the orchestra are joined on stage by pianist and musical innovator Anil Srinivasan. Indian classical music is traditionally a solo, improvised tradition, yet Samyo performs the work and arrangements of modern Indian composers, while retaining its classical roots. Inspired by the best folk, popular and classical traditions of India, Samyo is establishing a new sound and developing a unique Indian orchestral concept.

Samyo is a cultural phenomenon that brings talented young people of different backgrounds together from around the country to create and develop a daring musical experiment by presenting a solo, improvised musical tradition in a new way. Samyo was created to give young people inspirational training, development and performance opportunities in Indian music, and also to give audiences a different insight into this ancient classical form.
