A letter from our CEO, Alok Nayak:
Dearest Friends of Milapfest,
We hope this finds you all well! It has been a while since we were last in touch and I wanted to share some news on what we’ve been working on along with an update on our upcoming programme of events.
Milap’s mission is to inspire, educate and entertain people of all backgrounds, and we do this through a performance programme, artist development projects and education sessions.
Earlier this year, I was appointed as CEO & Artistic Director of Milap, and one of my first and most important jobs was to reflect on our 35 year history and ask some important questions. How can we improve what we’re doing to elevate your experience of Indian Arts & culture? How can we reach more people? How can we have the biggest possible impact? As the opportunities for Milap continue to grow, it was important for us to take some time out to rethink and refresh our strategy to ensure we’re of the highest service to all of you, our loyal supporters!
Over the past few months we’ve been doing more work in partnership with other organisations, exploring new opportunities to share Indian Classical arts. From now, until April, we will be redesigning our programme, and will return in April 2020 with a revamped programme of performance days, education events and will build up to the all-new Indika Festival, which is to be announced very soon! Indika will be the highlight of our programme in Liverpool, and we wanted to ensure it had something for everyone so we’ve scaled it up by programming events across the city, working with partner organisations and for the very first time we’ll be producing a major Diwali festival celebration for the city. We’ll also be producing some specially curated events throughout the year in Liverpool. Around the country, we will be bringing our work to London, other parts of the North West and on tour around the UK.
I would love to hear from you and find out what you would like to see us present, and how we can help enrich your lives and your experience of arts and culture. Get in touch, and if you’re interested in completing one of our surveys, let us know! We’d be very grateful for your time and input.
We really value your interest and support, and hope to see you soon!
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Alok Nayak
