IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
This concert originally featured Saraangi legend Pt. Ramesh Misra. Unfortunately, the programme for this event has been changed due to his very sad passing.
Continuing the Jugalbandi theme, Milapfest’s long-running Music for the Mind and Soul concert series brings to the stage a unique performance by sitarist Sanjay Guha and a special guest artist. They will be accompanied on stage by Milapfest’s Artist in Residence, Kousic Sen.
Sanjay Guha is one of the most established Sitar artists in the arena of Indian classical music, belonging to the Maihar-Senia Gharana tradition. Sanjay is a soulful sitarist who brings peace and solace to the minds of connoisseurs and novices alike.
Sudeshna Bhattacharya is one of the few women in the world to play the Sarod. She has toured extensively and is known throughout the world for her distinctive style of playing.
Sanjay and Sudeshna will be accompanied by Kousic Sen, a tabla player whose intense and energetic performances add a new dimension to the traditional concert experience. His rhythmic mastery has become known around the globe through his performances with leading musicians in many of the world’s most famous venues.
