This special concert celebrates the talents of the Great British Gharana, musicians who have learnt and developed Indian classical music here in Britain.
Considered one of the finest Sitar players to emerge on the Indian music scene in the UK, Roopa Panesar returns to Milapfest’s Music for the Mind and Soul concert series with her unique and soulful style of playing. She is a disciple of the renowned educationalist and leading musician Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE. Roopa has toured extensively in the UK, Europe and USA performing at prestigious venues and festivals and released her debut album “Khoj” in 2011.
Roopa will be joined by an ensemble of talented musicians, including Kirpal Singh Panesar on the Tar Shehnai, Kaviraj Singh Dhadyalla on Santoor and Bhupinder Singh Chaggar on Tabla.
In this unique concert, the performers will feature as solo musicians during the first half before coming together as an ensemble to close the show.
