Music for the Mind and Soul: Maya Jazz – Balkan Jazz meets Indian Music, with Daphna Sadeh and Jyotsna Srikanth
Free Admission
As part of the Liverpool International Jazz Festival, Milapfest presents a very special Music for the Mind and Soul concert. Acclaimed Double Bass player, Daphna Sadeh, and South Indian Violinist, Jyotsna Srikanth, celebrate their virtuosity of Jazz -Balkan and South Indian Carnatic musical heritage with a new sound they created together.
Jyotsna is known for her creativity, compositions and cross-cultural projects. Daphna has found her voice as a stylish composer and bandleader, with a talent for making the complicated sound extraordinarily simple. As women instrumentalists and composers, they both aspire to fulfil their creative ability and to project it in a significant way. Jyotsna and Daphna will be joined by an ensemble of talented musicians including Stewart Curtis on the saxophone and flute, Mark Smulian on guitar and Myke Vince on drums.
