The awards are for the most talented young artists practicing Indian classical arts in Britain today. Following an application process, the six shortlisted candidates in each category prepare for a final performance in front of an international jury and live audience. The winners will be announced at the end of the evening.
The awards performances take place during Milapfest’s Indika festival in Liverpool on Tuesday 29th July and Wednesday 30th July 2013, at the Capstone Theatre, Liverpool.
These new awards are unprecedented and unique in Britain as they recognise young and emerging talents who are working to promote and maintain Indian classical arts.
