ReadThis summer we have a really exciting programme coming up at The Capstone Theatre in Liverpool. Our summer festival, Indika, features some of the world’s finest musicians and dancers, many of whom are travelling from India, Europe andthe USA. Over 11 days, you’ll see artforms from North India alongside those of South India, enjoy unique collaborations, and witness some of the most creative expressions of classical Indian arts.

ReadDr Manuella Blackburn, lecturer in music technology at Liverpool Hope University, has been awarded an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Early Career Research Fellowship starting in October 2012 in collaboration with Milapfest entitled: Intercultural creativity in electroacoustic music: Integrating Indian music cultural sound emblems into new works.
ReadOver the past 11 days, a gathering of musicians and dancers , through the convergence of three landmark events in our calendar, Music India, Dance India and the Indika festival, resulted in an atmosphere of unique creative energy and inspiration for Indian arts.
ReadThe umbrella event under which both solo performances took place, Dance India, is the brainchild of Milapfest, who, for seven years running, have coordinated in the UK an intensive summer learning experience for dancers worldwide, creating for advanced and intermediate students alike the opportunity to learn from eminent gurus.
