For Day Ten of ‘12 Days of Milap’, we’re shining a light on our Arts School.

A core foundation of our education and career pathway in Indian Arts is our Arts School – a term-time education programme based in Liverpool that provides structured learning in Indian classical arts.. The school was established in response to audience feedback from our regular concerts: people were passionate about Indian Arts but lacked accessible opportunities to study them locally.
From this demand, the Arts School was born, offering weekly classes of Indian performing arts where students could engage closely with experienced teachers. The programme provides a professional, structured environment for learning, catering to all levels from beginner to advanced. It also supports young people academically, with the curriculum contributing to UCAS points for those wanting to attend university.

Over the years, we’ve supported learning across a wide range of artforms – from Kathak, Bharatanatyam and Tabla to Hindustani Vocal, Veena, Violin and Yoga – establishing Liverpool as a vibrant centre and home for Indian classical arts education.
By bridging the gap between performance and learning, Milap’s Arts School has become more than a learning programme; it is a central hub for Indian classical arts, fostering a shared love and commitment among students and performers.
