SPRING PROGRAMME: Just Enough Madness & Caught Again in the Net of Rebirth

Following an exciting return to Manchester for Indika Festival 2025, we are bringing South-Asian dance and performing arts back to The Lowry, with a double bill of ‘Just Enough Madness’ & ‘Caught Again In The Net of Rebirth’, on Tuesday 31st March.

Created by and starring the award-winning, UK-based Kuchipudi dancer, Payal Ramchandani and Dutch dance artist and choreographer, Chandenie Gobardhan, the performance is an exploration of the concept of Trimurti – the cosmic cycle of creation, preservation and destruction of the self.

Weaving together poetic text and ritual – accompanied by a striking live musical score by three musicians on percussion, flute and vocal – the pair will express Trimurti through themes of motherhood, miscarriage and post-partum. Drawing inspiration from multiple dance styles – including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, street dance and contemporary – this is a bold new dance-theatre work from two new generation South-Asian female voices.
