Hindustani vocal (male)

What is Hindustani Vocal?

The voice, and singing, are very important in Indian classical music. Students are taught through singing in most cases, and melodic instruments imitate the sound and nuances of the human voice in performances.

Following the pattern of a traditional indian classical music concert, vocal performance are part improvisation, and partly based on compositions. There are major forms of Hindustani classical music followed by vocalists, including Khyal, Dhrupad, and also “semi-classical” and folk traditions too.
