Securing a bright future for SAMYO’s young musicians!
As part of SAMYO’s 10 year anniversary celebrations we are launching the SAMYO 10K Challenge Fund to secure £10,000 towards vitally needed rehearsal and training days this year. This can help our orchestra members move a step further towards becoming professional musicians in the future.
Your contribution will help our young musicians to train and develop into accomplished performers and teachers who in turn will inspire future generations of musicians. It will also strategically support many youngsters who are talented but need financial support to further their education and training.
If you enjoy SAMYO performances and want to play a part in the development of the orchestra and shaping the future of music in Britain, there are many ways you can get involved.
Donations of all sizes are gratefully received and form a value contribution towards helping us to achieve our mission to secure a bright future for SAMYO.

Founded by Milapfest in 2002, SAMYO, the National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music, are the only orchestra of its kind in the world. Through our orchestra we endeavour to provide specialised training, development & performance opportunities for budding young artistes from diverse backgrounds to train in Indian classical music. Membership of SAMYO gives our young people confidence, hope and encouragement in their musical careers, helping to improve their lives.
SAMYO are a unique orchestra featuring outstanding young British musicians (aged between 8 and 18 years) who combine North and South Indian music traditions with that of Western & World Music, creating a classic and contemporary sound. The members are some of the most talented young musicians performing Indian Music in the country, each of whom has been born and trained in the UK. For them, SAMYO is both an extension of their regular training, and a valuable platform for the members to develop professional performance skills in an ensemble setting.
Your participation and support will be greatly appreciated by Milapfest, and we hope it will offer you both an insight in to the future of British Indian Music, and an opportunity to see the achievements and progress made by SAMYO as a National Youth Music Orchestra.They are set to be the future ambassadors of Indian music and culture!
Milapfest is a registered charity, and we raise money for SAMYO activities through grants, donations and ticket sales throughout the year. All tickets purchased for our SAMYO events will help strengthen our fundraising efforts, ensuring that all of our resources are directly channelled towards helping our young musicians through our education and development training programmes. This will help keep SAMYO membership free of cost for the young musicians and ensure that they have the experience of working with amazing tutors from India.
Our special anniversary concert will take place at The Queen Elizabeth Hall of Southbank Centre, London on the 16 March 2013.
