Samyo to perform at Anand Utsav

Anand Utsav is a charity fundraiser event for Arya Kanya Gurukul,  a unique school dedicated to female education in India, located in Porbandar, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. Samyo are set to perform, representing the next generation of young artists flying the flag of Indian arts in the UK.

PROGRAMME

Students of Arya Kanya Gurukul perform a specially choreographed mini version of the famous Indian dance ballet ‘Yugdharma: Ganga – Amrit Sarita.’

Samyo – The National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music are celebrating their 10 year
anniversary through 2012. Here, they perform a selection of celebratory pieces from their
repertoire.

Abhinava Dance Company present RANG – Showcasing Indian dance at its most creative & upbeat, where the vitality & dynamism of traditions are re-energized with modern visions. The program features a stunning collection of pieces from their Kathak repertoire.

Anand Utsav celebrates the platinum jubilee of this unique educational institution, whilst raising funds to support the brilliant but non affording students. Featuring spectacular performances by the world renowned Abhinava Dance Company (Bangalore), the UK’s National Youth Orchestra for Indian Music, and performances by the students of Gurukul themselves, this rich evening of Indian culture is a unique opportunity to support the work of an important institution, while enjoying the vibrant sounds, colours and diversity of India.
