Rakesh Chaurasia stormed on to the Indian music scene as a child prodigy under the guidance of his uncle, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. The most accomplished of his disciples, Rakesh shows all the promise to carry the Chaurasia legacy to brilliant new heights. Rakesh is renowned for his ability to play the bansuri (bamboo flute) in live performances all over the world.
He is also an experienced collaborator, and has recorded and performed music with several ensembles. He has also had a prolific career with studio recordings, with many popular CD titles to his name. he has composed music and worked with artists such as the Spanish guitarist Marco Salaun, Indian jazz pianist Louis Banks and percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, amongst others.
