Girishh Gopalakrishnan

Milap Education Consultant

What does a typical day at Milap look like for you?

It involves a range of brainstorming ideas, meeting with artists and meetings with the UK team to synchronise activities in India. On shoot days, it’s a 20 hour day ranging from artist liaison to content production, to editing and project coordination!

What is the best thing about working with Milap?

After working for over 12 years, I can say it’s all about the futuristic vision that the organisation has for music education and the passion with which we produce content that’s ahead of its time. Also, it has been one of the most successful channels through which all of the brightest Indian talent in the UK has branched out or flourished.

What are your favourite Milap memories?

My first favourite memory is producing the album ‘Undone’. My second favourite memory is conducting and arranging a Mozart Piano Concerto for piano and Indian instruments featuring Anil Srinivasan. Another favourite memory is The NYMO retreat at Aldeburgh with the brightest, most talented young musicians from around the UK.
