Quintessentially Carnatic (south Indian), the Saraswati Veena is an ancient stringed instrument with a sweet resonating sound. Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh is India’s foremost veena player, and as a musician, educator and academic, she has developed a strong identity and musical style that can been heard in her compositions.
In this concert, titled JUST ME, Jayanthi performs alone as she explores the unique dimensions and facets of the veena.

Alarmel Valli is a leading Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer, acclaimed internationally for her ability to translate traditional grammar into a personal dance poetry and her strict adherence to the classical style is punctuated by self expression. A few of the highlights of Valli’s career would include her performances at The Bolshoi Theatre, Theatre De La Ville, Vienna International Dance Festival, Munich Opera Festival, The Edinburgh Festival and the New York International Festival of Arts.
