Carnatic vocalist and Lapsteel guitar player Srutti Suresan brings the richness of South Indian music repertoire to the concert series, presenting a set of popular compositions from the tradition. Featuring both composed and improvised passages, Carnatic (South Indian) music is known for its roots in beautiful poetry and devotional music, and virtuosic performances by ensembles of melodic and percussion players. All four musicians are current or alumni members of Tarang, the Indian classical music band known for its original repertoire and young talented professionals.
