Be dazzled at a brilliant evening of South Indian music and dance following the National Indian Arts Awards, showcasing this year’s award winners.
Now in their fifth year, the NIAAs celebrate the talented individuals and organisations, across the UK and internationally, promoting and nurturing Indian arts. Each year, the glittering ceremony is followed by a gala concert featuring the honoured performers.
Carnatic torch-bearers Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Vijayalakshmi present an evening of South Indian Carnatic music filled with Lalgudi classics, complex rhythmic patterns featuring a brilliant line up of percussionists and dynamic ensemble interactions
The development of Indian violin, vocal music and composition in the 20th century owes much to the Lalgudi family and their legacy.
