Our first show of 2025 is a FREE lunchtime concert at The Tung Auditorium – and if our shows at the venue in 2024 are anything to go by, we’d recommend securing your tickets as soon as you can! On Wednesday 5th February, we invite you to experience the captivating melodies of Carnatic violin in a live concert featuring Aparna Raguraman, accompanied by Bangalore Prakash on the mridangam and Prathap Ramachandra on the ghatam.
Aparna – the daughter and disciple of renowned musicians Sri Balu Raguraman and Smt Subathra Raguramanh – has quickly made her mark as an up and coming artist. Having been awarded Milap’s National Youth Fellowship and featured in acclaimed concerts including a collaboration with Anoushka Shankar at London’s Royal Festival Hall, Aparna is known for her expressive style and technical mastery.
Joining her on stage, Bangalore Prakash brings his rhythmic expertise on the mridangam, known for his dynamic playing and complex and powerful beats. Prathap Ramachandra on the ghatam completes the ensemble with his unique, earthy percussion style, adding texture and rhythm to every piece. Together, these three exceptional musicians promise an afternoon of rich, intricate soundscapes, honouring the beauty and depth of Carnatic music.
Tickets are available to reserve online here – make sure to secure yours before they’re all snapped up!
