Milap support the making of ‘Shakti’, a major co-created dance production for Movema’s annual ‘Big Union’ event in Liverpool.
Celebrating the journey of 27 community performers from Liverpool, who collaborated with professional artists in the North West. Participants came together to explore, learn and share dance movement from India including folk dance, classical and contemporary dance styles.
A beautiful performance was created in just 16 hours spread over 8 weeks and then performed in front of 400 people, with many of the communtiy dancers being new to dancing.
