Guru Purnima – A Celebration!

Guru Purnima – A Celebration!

‘Guru’ or ‘Teacher’ has always been considered akin to a God. ‘Guru Purnima’ or ‘Vyasa Purnima’ is the day we celebrate and pay our gratitude to our Gurus. This Sanskrit word literally translates to ‘the one who frees us of ignorance’.

Guru Purnima is celebrated to honour our teachers, who remove the darkness from our minds. An age-old Sanskrit phrase ‘Mata Pitah Guru Daivam’, says that the first place is reserved for the mother, second for the father, third for Guru, and fourth for God.

At Milap, we’re very fortunate to work with many eminent Gurus from around the world, and have been inspired, educated and entertained by them all.

Guru Purnima falls on the 24th July 2021, and on this day we wish to celebrate our Gurus’ support for Indian Arts in the UK and Internationally – as they bless every student across the globe and share their thoughts and memories.
