This visual masterpiece will delight audiences with a beautiful journey through the ancient art form of Bharatanatyam. Rama Vaidyanathan is undoubtedly one of the most sought after artistes of her generation. While deeply routed in tradition, Rama has evolved her own individual style while bringing a rare sense of devotion and dedication, which leaves the audience with a sense of spiritual fulfilment. Rama shares her extraordinary talent for storytelling through the subtelties and nuances of this wonderful dance form with her daughter Dakshina, who will also be joining her on stage in this unique performance. Dakshina Vaidyanthan, is arguably one of India’s leading young artists in her own right, paves the way for artists who want to experiment with tradition. Her graceful mastery of the form is perfectly in sync with the wisdom and expertise of her mother, Rama.
DWITA is a duet performance by a mother daughter pair exploring new avenues of Bharatanatyam choreography, and several mythological as well as contemporary themes will be depicted to show case the versatility of the dance form.
