Mita Nag – Sitar

Mita Nag – Sitar

22 May 2016 | 13:00 until 15:00

The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester

Featuring
Mita Nag –  Sitar
Kousic Sen  – Tabla

Indian classical music is often deeply rooted in family lineage and traditions, with the art being passed on between generations. Mita Nag carries on the legacy of her grandfather and father’s unique style of playing, known as the Vishnupur gharana, which follows the contemplative, meditative style of Dhrupad, a prominent style of vocal music.

This improvised concert showcases Sitar & Tabla in a form rarely seen in England, and performed by two internationally renowned artists.
