FIRST HALF – Touch

Anil Srinivasan   Piano
Featuring Alberto Sanna   Violin

In a new première performance designed especially for Indika, Touch is a 59 minute exploration of the piano through a tapestry of Indian sound, with a multimedia narrative. Explore the musical personality and performance style of Anil Sriinivasan, one of the world’s first innovators on the piano in Indian music; with a continuous musical trajectory capturing various moods, textures and collaborators. The concert features renowned Italian violinist Dr Alberto Sanna, a musicologist at Liverpool Hope University and expert in early modern Italian Music.

 

SECOND HALF – Sheejith Krishna

This is a rare opportunity to see one of India’s leading classical dancers in action. World renowned for his innovative choroegraphy within the classical context, Sheejith Krishna is considered one of the best interpreters of the ancient art form of Bharatanatyam.

Sheejith is renowned for his unique ability to tell stories through his fresh
and contemporary approach to dance and this evening sees him present some of his most loved choreographic works which take us through a colourful journey of emotions, stories and artistry. Sheejith brings to his dance a rare sense of devotion and dedication, which leaves the audience with a sense of spiritual fulfillment. Profound, enchanting, simply unmissable dance!
