Rekesh Chauhan is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with both Indian and Western classical training. As a solo pianist, Rekesh has performed in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, and has shared the stage with many leading artistes including Ravindra Jain, the legendary Pt. Birju Maharaj, and Mercury Prize award winner Talvin Singh. In this concert we celebrate the launch of his new solo album. Recorded by Milapfest in 2014, and featuring tabla maestro Kousic Sen, Beyond Roots is a breakthrough album, exploring new territories in contemporary Indian classical music.
