Madhu Tanjorkar, Rishii Chowdhury and Elena Catalano

Madhu Tanjorkar     Violin
Akash Patel     Sitar
Rishii Chowdhury     Tabla
Elena Catalano     Odissi

The first Music for the Mind and Soul of 2013 uniquely features both Music and Dance. Madhu Tanjorkar, Akash Patel and Rishii Chowdhury are rising stars on the British Indian music scene and are members of Tarang, The National Ensemble for Indian Music. Together they perform a beautiful selection of classical ragas on the violin, sitar and tabla respectively – a rare combination of instruments.

Following Madhu, Akash, and Rishii’s performance, Elena Catalano presents the graceful and exquisite Indian dance form of Odissi, providing an interesting new dimension to the concert series.  Elena is an Italian dancer whose incredible talent was discovered at Milapfest’s International Summer School for Indian Dance, Dance India, in 2012. Elena performs a stunning selection of pieces from the classical Odissi repertoire.
