Franz Osten’s lavish 1928 silent film Shiraz, filmed on location in India with a cast of thousands, tells the romantic story of how the finest builders in India came to Agra and built the Taj Mahal. The screening of the film is accompanied with a live score composed by internationally renowned tabla player and composer Sarvar Sabri and performed by the Sabri Ensemble. Together they conjure up a rich soundscape of melody and rhythm with South Asian, Jazz and Western classical influences.

‘A sound that refreshes the senses.’ Jazz Review
