Manjiri Asnare-Kelkar is the rising star of the Jaipur–Gwalior Khayal style of singing. Singing from a very young age, Manjiri has been enthralling audiences all over the world with her unique and fresh approach to the orthodox Jaipur style of singing. Manjiri has created a beautiful, distinct style of her own, infusing her music with flavours of the orthodox Jaipur style of singing, known for it’s great attention to rhythm and and deep soulful sounds. This rare visit to the UK provides an opportunity to hear one of India’s maestros from a new generation of talent. If you’re new to the Khayal style of singing, already a fan or curious to learn more, this is definitely not a concert to be missed. This concert marks the beginning of a new season of Music for the Mind and Soul at The Bridgewater Hall. This re-launch event offers the opportunity to eat delicious Indian food before enjoying the performance. This will be a regular feature of MFMS Bridgewater Hall from now on.
